In this motion design course, we'll look at creating and distorting a stylized futuristic HUD Earth. We'll begin this course in Cinema 4D where we'll create the earth using an earth texture and atom array, we'll add additional elements to the bottom of our earth and render to After Effects where we'll stylize and add our distortion effects.
Nick Harauz is a certified motion graphics instructor, and has previously been a master trainer for Red Giant, Cineversity from Maxon, Boris FX, Post Production World Online and Adobe Max. Nick has developed his motion design style over the last 15+ years and crafted high-end work for a variety of domestic and international brands such as Virgin Mobile, Proctor & Gamle, Diageo and MasterCard.
In this motion design course, instructor Nick Harauz will take you through creating a HUD landscape with the help of Cinema 4D and After Effects. We'll start off by creating a loopable rotating landscape in Cinema 4D through a non-traditional method with Volumes. We'll then export our landscape as an AEC file and then stylize inside of After Effects using a variety of Effects.
There are a lot of digital screens in our lives today. From smartphones to Billboards. And with it comes large demand for typography in motion design. Often because the content is consumed without audio.
Motion Graphics templates can include various motion graphics elements packaged as templates with easy-to-use controls along with the source images, videos, and pre-comps necessary to maintain consistent design across your projects. It allows motion designers working in After Effects to retain stylistic control of compositions while providing editors working in Premiere Pro the ability to customize the motion graphic according to the project's needs.
The Essential Graphics panel allows you to build custom controls for motion graphics and share them as Motion Graphics templates via Creative Cloud Libraries or as local files. Essential Graphics panel works as a bucket in which you can add different controls, modify them, and then pack them as shareable Motion Graphics templates.
Canva is a popular online design tool that has recently introduced a few basic animation features. It lets you download your graphic designs as a GIF or video by choosing one of the six animation styles available in the app.
Easil is another web-based design tool that also supports GIF downloads. However, the only way to make an animated GIF in Easil is by duplicating an image frame several times and making edits to each frame.
Erin Koyle designed a 3D printed food dish that held two camera phones. When the animals came to retrieve food, the cameras were triggered using a motion sensor mobile app. Erin aimed to capture images of her pet turtle feeding as well as squirrels around campus. Here are her design sketches:
In this edition, we want to highlight our community rockstar, Michael Szalapski a.ka. Szalam. Michael is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful members of the community who is welcoming to new users. He is a motion designer, 3d animator, and videographer based near Nashville, Tennessee. He has been working with digital video since the year 2000. His current full-time job is producing training and support for a unit in the US military where he uses Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator as well as Maxon's Cinema 4D (with X-Particles and Cycles 4D) and cameras by Sony, Canon, and GoPro. "Being able to quickly edit footage in Premiere Pro (thank you, Q and W shortcuts!) and then just copy and paste that edit into AE means I can make a high-quality product under some pretty extreme deadlines. My goal is always to exceed expectations and having the tools work together so seamlessly really helps with that!" he says. "I do have a unique job," he adds, "I don't know many other motion designers who also have a flight suit, a helmet with PELTOR headset, and a vest with 'bullet-resistant' ceramic plates in it as part of their job kit."
In his early days, he found a lot of support online in places like the Adobe forums and Creative COW, so he decided to give back as soon as he was able. He started answering super-beginner questions and found that helping others learn actually helped him learn better too - and the rest is history! Now, he is an owner of the Motion Design Artists Slack (motionslack.com), runs the After Effects subreddit, has helped teach After Effects and Premiere Pro labs at Adobe MAX, presented multiple times at the Music City Mograph Meetup (a Nashville-area motion design group), and is an Adobe Community Professional.
Michael currently lives north of Nashville across the border in rural Kentucky in an 1800s farmhouse with his husband, two kids, and their dog, Buffy. He serves in the worship band at his church singing harmony and playing percussion. He enjoys hiking, camping, creating craft cocktails, and (of course) learning more about motion design.
To achieve the most intuitive display of interior design effect, the concept, characteristics, expression mode, application scope and basic types of virtual reality display design are expounded from the perspective of three dimension (3d) virtual reality technology, and the advantages and disadvantages of 3d modeling speed and panoramic visualization display are analyzed. The results show that through this research and practice, a series of 3d production techniques for interior design space, such as mapping technology, lighting technology, modeling technology, etc., are summarized. These technologies can effectively make use of ordinary computer to make and operate virtual reality and makes an exploratory attempt for the promotion of 3d technology in interior design industry in the future. In this study, it provides a design fulcrum for the development of indoor furniture display under the new economic conditions, which is of great practical significance for the healthy and sustainable development of interior design industry.
